On the very first day of the New Year, tragedy struck Tandi village in the Jibhi Valley of Banjar, Kullu. A devastating fire turned dreams and homes into ashes. The village is grieving. Women’s eyes are filled with tears, and the young look broken and hopeless. Half of Tandi village has been wiped out.

Imagine waking up to the warmth of your home, only to watch it turn to ashes by nightfall. This heartbreaking reality struck Tandi village in Kullu, where over 39 families and 136 souls have been rendered homeless due to the devastating fire.
The fire burnt for 20 hours before it was extinguished
Now, as temperatures get as low as 8 degrees in the mountains, the survivors—little children, mothers, and the elderly—are left to face the biting cold without shelter, food, or warmth. They sleep in makeshift tents arranged by local administration, shivering through the long, freezing nights.
